Sword V1 AMDAffordable Gaming, Reimagined
Why choose between a boring black box and breaking the bank? The Sword V1 AMD is an easy way into proper PC gaming, with smooth 1080p performance in the games everyone is playing and extra muscle for multitasking, at a price that stays firmly grounded.
Everything sits inside a compact glass-sided cube that puts the whole build on show from the front, side and corner, lit up with ARGB from the moment you power on. Assembled, stress tested and backed by our technicians here in the UK.
The Story of the Sword Series
UK gamers were stuck choosing between stunning glass showpieces with flagship price tags and dull budget boxes with no personality. At House of Computers, we built the Sword Series to close that gap: high-end style with smart, sensible performance, made to sit proudly on your desk.
Inside the Build
No filler parts and no surprises. Here is what each piece does and why it is in here.
AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
Eight cores and sixteen threads on AMD's proven Zen 3 architecture, with 32MB of L3 cache and a boost clock of up to 4.6GHz, all inside an efficient 65W power envelope.
Six cores cover most games today, so the extra two give the 5700X real breathing room. It has far more than enough to keep the RTX 3050 fed at 1080p, leaving spare capacity for Discord, a browser full of tabs or a video export running in the background, and plenty of headroom for a faster graphics card later. The 5700X has no built-in graphics, which is why it sits alongside a dedicated card.
GeForce RTX 3050 6GB
This is the part that draws the picture. Built on NVIDIA's Ampere architecture with 6GB of GDDR6 video memory, it is a proper entry point into PC gaming, tuned for smooth 1080p play in esports titles and popular releases.
It brings RTX features to a budget build. Ray tracing cores handle realistic lighting, shadows and reflections, and Tensor cores power NVIDIA DLSS, which renders at a lower resolution and rebuilds the image sharp with AI to lift frame rates. It is also very efficient, drawing its power straight from the motherboard slot, so it runs cool and quiet.
AMD Wraith Prism
Designed by AMD for its own Ryzen processors. Four copper heat pipes sit in direct contact with the processor and carry heat up into a dense aluminium fin stack, where a 92mm PWM fan pushes it away.
The Wraith Prism is rated for processors up to 105W, so the 65W Ryzen 7 5700X has plenty of cooling in hand and the fan can stay at relaxed speeds through everyday use and long gaming sessions. Its signature RGB ring glows through the Edge Mini's glass and can be synced with the rest of the lighting through the motherboard's Aura Sync headers. Thermal paste is applied by hand on every build.
ASUS TUF GAMING A520M-PLUS WIFI
The board everything plugs into. ASUS's TUF line is built for durability, with military-grade components, a large VRM heatsink and 2oz copper layers that keep the power delivery cool and stable on AMD's AM4 platform.
The graphics card sits in a full-length PCIe x16 slot and the system drive in a PCIe 3.0 x4 M.2 slot, with four SATA ports free for extra drives later. Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 are built in with antennas supplied, and TUF LANGuard Gigabit Ethernet is there for when you want a wired connection. Aura Sync RGB headers tie the lighting together.
16GB DDR4 at 3200MHz
Memory is where the game keeps everything it might need in the next few seconds. 16GB is the comfortable standard for gaming today, with room for Discord and a browser running in the background.
It is fitted as two 8GB sticks running in dual-channel at 3200MHz with tight CL16 timings, which doubles the bandwidth to the processor compared with a single stick. The board has four memory slots, so two are free if you want to step up to 32GB later.
500GB NVMe M.2 SSD
Windows boots in seconds and games load in a fraction of the time an older hard drive would take. Open world titles stream scenery in as you move, so you are not waiting on textures to fill in.
500GB holds Windows plus a handful of your main games. If your library outgrows it, the board's four SATA ports and the case's drive bays make adding a second SSD or hard drive quick and easy.
Vida Edge Mini mATX
The reason the Sword looks like a flagship. A compact cube chassis with tempered glass on the front, side and corner, so the build is on show from almost every angle rather than hidden behind a single window.
Three ARGB PWM fans come fitted, two reverse-blade fans on the motherboard side and one at the rear, all run from an ARGB hub with its own remote so you can change the lighting without touching software. The power supply sits to the side, out of the main compartment, keeping the view clean. Up front you get USB-C, USB-A and a combined audio jack, and there is room inside for a graphics card up to 42cm long if you upgrade later.
Corsair CX650 650W
Clean, steady power for everything above from one of the most trusted names in PC power, with an 80 PLUS Bronze efficiency rating.
650W is far more than the Ryzen 7 5700X and RTX 3050 need, so the supply is never working hard and its low-noise 120mm fan stays quiet. That spare capacity also makes this build easy to upgrade, with plenty of room for a much more powerful graphics card later.

What Can It Run?
The Sword V1 AMD puts AMD's eight-core Ryzen 7 5700X behind NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3050, a pairing built for smooth 1080p gaming in the titles people play most.
In competitive titles this is where the Sword shines. Valorant and Fortnite run past what a 144Hz monitor can display on competitive settings and Counter-Strike 2 sits right around it, which keeps motion clear and your aim consistent.
Step up to the heavier releases and the RTX 3050 still gets you playing. Modern AAA and open-world games run at 1080p on low to medium settings, and DLSS lifts the frame rate further in supported titles.
With 16GB of dual-channel DDR4 3200MHz memory and a 500GB NVMe drive, Windows is quick, games load fast and you can keep Discord and a browser open alongside a game without the system struggling.
Outside of games, those eight cores make it a genuinely capable machine for school and work, photo editing and 1080p video projects.
FPS Benchmarks
Estimated average frame rates for the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X and RTX 3050 6GB at 1080p. A busy scene and a quiet one are not the same test, so treat these as the shape of the performance rather than a fixed number.

Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of gaming performance can I expect from this PC?
The Sword V1 AMD is built for smooth 1080p gaming. Valorant and Fortnite run past 144Hz on competitive settings and Counter-Strike 2 sits around 140 FPS, while heavier open-world games are playable at low to medium settings, with DLSS available in supported titles to lift the frame rate.
Why an eight-core Ryzen 7 5700X?
Most games run well on six cores, so the extra two give you headroom rather than bottlenecks. With 16 threads and an up to 4.6GHz boost, the 5700X has far more than the RTX 3050 needs at 1080p and still has capacity left for streaming, recording, Discord and heavier multitasking alongside a game. It also means the processor will not hold you back when you upgrade the graphics card later.
Why does the Ryzen 7 5700X need a separate graphics card?
The Ryzen 7 5700X has no integrated graphics. That is not a drawback here, because every Sword V1 AMD ships with a dedicated GeForce RTX 3050, which is far more powerful than any built-in graphics. Just make sure your monitor is plugged into the graphics card rather than the motherboard.
Is the AMD Wraith Prism air cooler enough for the Ryzen 7 5700X?
Yes. The Ryzen 7 5700X is a 65W processor and the Wraith Prism is rated for chips up to 105W, so it has comfortable headroom to keep temperatures in check during long gaming sessions. Its four copper heat pipes and 92mm PWM fan keep things quiet in everyday use, and the RGB ring suits the glass showcase look of the Edge Mini.
Does this graphics card support Ray Tracing and DLSS?
Yes. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 has dedicated ray tracing cores for realistic lighting, shadows and reflections, plus Tensor cores that run NVIDIA DLSS. DLSS uses AI to upscale your games, giving a boost to frame rates without losing image sharpness.
Is the system Wi-Fi enabled right out of the box?
Yes. The ASUS TUF GAMING A520M-PLUS WIFI motherboard has built-in Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and Bluetooth 5.0, with external antennas supplied for strong signal reception. There is also a TUF LANGuard Gigabit Ethernet port if you would rather use a cable.
Is 500GB NVMe storage enough, and can I add more later?
500GB gives you fast boot times and room for Windows plus a few of your favourite games. Some modern AAA titles take up 100GB or more each, so if you keep a large library installed you may want more space. The motherboard has four SATA ports and the case has drive bays, so adding a second SSD or a hard drive later is simple.
How big is the Vida Edge Mini case?
It is a compact cube measuring roughly 432 x 277 x 372 mm, designed to sit on your desk and show off the build through glass on the front, side and corner. Despite its size it takes graphics cards up to 42cm long, so there is room for a bigger card if you upgrade.
Can I control the RGB lighting?
Yes. The case's three ARGB fans run from an ARGB hub that comes with its own remote, so you can switch colours and effects without installing any software. The AMD Wraith Prism's RGB ring and the motherboard's Aura Sync headers also let you manage lighting from Windows if you prefer.
Can I upgrade the PC in the future?
Yes. Everything in here is a standard part. The AM4 socket supports other Ryzen 5000 Series processors, two of the board's four memory slots are free for adding more RAM, there are four SATA ports for extra storage, and the 650W power supply and 42cm of case clearance leave room for a graphics card upgrade.
Does the PC come with Windows installed?
Yes. Windows 11 is pre-installed, configured and tested before dispatch, so your system is ready to use immediately.
How is the PC tested before shipping?
Every Sword V1 AMD goes through a full build and quality assurance process. This includes BIOS updates where applicable, cable management, thermal testing, hardware stress testing, driver installation and a final inspection before the system is carefully packaged for delivery.
What warranty is included?
The Sword V1 AMD includes a 3 Year Standard Warranty, consisting of:
- 1 Year Collect & Return
- 1 Year Parts Warranty
- 3 Years Labour Warranty
- Lifetime Technical Support
Can I customise the specification before ordering?
Yes. If you would like more RAM, larger storage, a different graphics card or other upgrades, our team can customise the Sword V1 AMD to suit your exact requirements before it is built.
Why choose House of Computers?
Every Sword system is built by expert technicians in the UK using genuine components from leading manufacturers. Each PC is professionally assembled, fully stress tested, quality checked and securely packaged so it arrives ready to perform from day one.
