The TP-Link TL-SX1008 is a high-performance unmanaged 10-Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for demanding business networks, workstations, NAS systems, servers, WiFi access points, gaming setups and high-bandwidth home networks. All eight RJ45 ports support automatic negotiation between 100Mbps, 1Gbps, 2.5Gbps, 5Gbps and 10Gbps, giving users the flexibility to connect devices operating at different Ethernet speeds. With a massive 160Gbps switching capacity, high packet-forwarding performance and a durable desktop/rackmount chassis, it provides an easy path to a full Multi-Gig network without complicated switch management.

Eight Full Multi-Gigabit RJ45 Ports

Every Ethernet port supports 100Mbps, 1Gbps, 2.5Gbps, 5Gbps and 10Gbps network speeds with automatic negotiation and Auto-MDI/MDIX. This allows the switch to work with standard Gigabit computers as well as faster Multi-Gig NAS devices, workstations, servers and access points without manually configuring individual port speeds.

Up to 10 Gigabits Per Second

A maximum negotiated link speed of 10Gbps per port provides substantially greater bandwidth than conventional Gigabit Ethernet. This makes the TL-SX1008 especially useful for high-speed NAS backups, large media transfers, virtualised servers, content-production workstations and high-performance wireless access points.

The TL-SX1008 provides an impressive 160Gbps switching capacity with packet-forwarding performance of around 119 Mpps. This high internal bandwidth allows the switch to handle multiple high-speed connections simultaneously without the switching fabric becoming an unnecessary network bottleneck.

The high-bandwidth interfaces make the TL-SX1008 particularly useful for connecting 10G NAS systems, servers, PCIe network adapters and professional workstations. Large files and media projects can move across compatible 10G infrastructure far faster than over conventional Gigabit networking.

Ideal for High-Speed Wireless Access Points

Modern WiFi access points can exceed standard Gigabit Ethernet bandwidth. The TL-SX1008 supports 2.5Gbps, 5Gbps and 10Gbps wired links, providing a suitable backbone for compatible WiFi 6 and newer access points where higher Ethernet throughput is required.

Use Existing Ethernet Infrastructure

The switch can integrate with existing copper Ethernet networks. Cat5e or better cabling supports lower Multi-Gig rates, while TP-Link recommends suitable Cat6/Cat6a cabling depending on the required 10Gbps distance. With Cat6a or higher cabling, 10G Ethernet can operate across links up to approximately 100 metres.

802.1p / DSCP Quality of Service

Built-in 802.1p and DSCP QoS provides traffic-prioritisation support for latency-sensitive applications such as gaming, voice and video. IEEE 802.3x flow control further helps maintain stable Ethernet transmission when the network is under load.

Jumbo Frame Support

Jumbo-frame support can improve efficiency during large data transfers by reducing protocol overhead. TP-Link specifications vary slightly between hardware revisions, with older revisions generally listing 10KB jumbo frames and newer V4-generation documentation listing up to 12KB.

Intelligent Active Cooling

An integrated smart cooling fan automatically adjusts its speed to balance thermal performance with operating noise. The durable metal enclosure and active cooling system allow TP-Link to specify an operating-temperature range of 0°C to 50°C.

Simple Unmanaged Operation

The TL-SX1008 is an unmanaged switch, so no software configuration is required for normal operation. Connect the Ethernet devices and power cable, and automatic speed negotiation and Auto-MDI/MDIX handle the basic network connection automatically.

Desktop or Rackmount Installation

The durable metal chassis measures approximately 294 × 180 × 44mm and can be placed on a desktop or installed in a suitable network rack using the supplied rackmount kit. Rubber feet are included for stable desktop installation.
