The TP-Link TL-SG1218MP is a professional 18-port Gigabit rackmount switch designed for surveillance, office, access-point and business-network deployments. It provides 16 Gigabit PoE+ RJ45 ports, two Gigabit non-PoE RJ45 ports and two combo Gigabit SFP slots. With a powerful 250W PoE budget, support for up to 30W per PoE+ port and a 36Gbps switching capacity, it can power multiple IP cameras, wireless access points and VoIP devices while maintaining high-speed network connectivity.

16 Dedicated Gigabit PoE+ Ports

Ports 1–16 support IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at PoE+, allowing compatible network devices to receive power and Gigabit data through a single Ethernet cable. This greatly simplifies installations involving IP cameras, wireless access points and IP phones by reducing the need for separate power supplies.

High 250W PoE Power Budget

A total 250W PoE power budget provides enough capacity to run numerous powered devices simultaneously. Each compatible IEEE 802.3at PoE+ port can supply up to 30W, making the TL-SG1218MP suitable for demanding CCTV and wireless-network installations.

Built-in 802.1p and DSCP QoS functionality can prioritise latency-sensitive traffic such as voice and video. This is particularly valuable in surveillance and communications networks where consistent real-time traffic is more important than ordinary background transfers.

Intelligent PoE Power Management

When combined PoE demand exceeds the available 250W budget, intelligent power management can protect the switch by cutting power to lower-priority devices while maintaining power to higher-priority ports. The switch also automatically detects the power requirements of connected compatible devices.

36Gbps Switching Capacity

The TL-SG1218MP provides a 36Gbps switching capacity and approximately 26.78 Mpps packet-forwarding performance. An 8K MAC address table, store-and-forward architecture, 10KB jumbo frames and IEEE 802.3x flow control help maintain efficient Gigabit network operation.

A durable metal enclosure and dual-fan cooling system help dissipate heat during continuous high-power PoE operation. TP-Link specifies an operating temperature range of 0°C to 50°C, making the switch suitable for professional network cabinets and CCTV installations.

Measuring approximately 440 × 180 × 44mm, the TL-SG1218MP fits a standard 1U rack position. The supplied rackmount kit allows professional installation in CCTV cabinets, communications racks and server rooms.
