Professional High-Power PoE+ Switching for CCTV Networks

The TP-Link TL-SL1218MP is a professional unmanaged PoE+ switch built for surveillance systems, offices and business networks. It provides 16 × 10/100Mbps PoE+ RJ45 ports, two Gigabit RJ45 uplinks and two combo Gigabit SFP slots. A high 250W PoE budget supports multiple IP cameras, access points and IP phones, while Extend Mode enables power and data transmission across distances of up to 250 metres for suitable CCTV installations.

16 Dedicated PoE+ Ports

Ports 1–16 support IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at PoE+, allowing compatible devices to receive network data and electrical power through a single Ethernet cable. Each PoE+ port can provide up to 30W, making the switch suitable for IP surveillance cameras, wireless access points and IP phones.

High 250W PoE Power Budget

A total 250W PoE budget allows the TL-SL1218MP to power numerous compatible devices simultaneously. Intelligent power management helps protect connected equipment when combined PoE demand approaches the available power limit.

250m Extend Mode

Power and data transmission can reach up to 250m for suitable surveillance installations.

Priority Mode

Ports 1–8 can receive higher priority for important video-surveillance traffic.

Isolation Mode

Client traffic separation helps improve network security and performance.

Dual Gigabit RJ45 Uplink Ports

Two 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit RJ45 ports provide high-speed connections to routers, NVRs, network switches and servers. These uplink ports help aggregate traffic from multiple connected surveillance devices without limiting the backbone to Fast Ethernet speeds.

Flexible Gigabit Fibre Connectivity

Two combo Gigabit SFP slots support compatible 1000BASE-X multimode or single-mode fibre transceivers, giving installers additional options for long-distance network links between cabinets, floors or separate buildings.

Up to 250m PoE Extend Mode

When Extend Mode is enabled, supported PoE ports can deliver power and data across distances of up to approximately 250 metres. Port speed is reduced to 10Mbps in Extend Mode, which is generally suitable for many IP surveillance applications.

Reliable Switching Performance

The TL-SL1218MP provides a 7.2Gbps switching capacity, approximately 5.36 Mpps forwarding rate, an 8K MAC address table and support for 10KB jumbo frames. Store-and-forward architecture and IEEE 802.3x flow control help maintain stable network operation.

Professional Dual-Fan Cooling

The rackmount metal chassis uses two cooling fans to dissipate heat during high PoE loads and continuous operation. Current V6 specifications list approximately 38.8dBA minimum and 45dBA maximum fan noise under TP-Link’s specified test conditions.

Professional Rackmount Metal Chassis

With dimensions of 440 × 180 × 44mm, the TL-SL1218MP fits a standard 1U network rack. The package includes mounting brackets and fittings for installation in CCTV cabinets, network racks and communications rooms.

Simple Plug-and-Play Installation

The TL-SL1218MP is an unmanaged switch, so standard operation requires no software configuration. Connect the network and compatible PoE devices, apply power and the switch automatically handles Ethernet forwarding and PoE detection.
